Tyrone Grandison

I am an experienced and award-winning leader. I have created and led organizations in crafting innovative solutions to some of the world's toughest business and societal problems. I am known for creating powerful visions and using them to drive improvement in complex, matrixed, and sometimes rigid and bureaucratic environments.

I know how to put technology to work to benefit all stakeholders, to create competitive advantage, to increase revenue, to accomplish mission, and to generate value. I also have experience as a CEO, CIO, COO, CDO and CTO with a PhD in Computer Science from the imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine, and an executive MBA degree from the IBM Academy of Education .

I speak at conferences globally on Data Privacy, Security, Software Engineering and Open Data. I am a Distinguished Engineer of the Association of Computing Machinery (ACM), a Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), a Fellow of the British Computer Society (BCS), a Fellow of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS), have been recognized by FedScoop as "The Most Inspiring Up & Comer" in the US Government (2015), by the National Society of Black Engineers as Pioneer of the Year in 2009, by Federal Computer Weekly as a "Rising Star" (2016), by the Institute for Education as "High Impact Presidential Innovation Fellow" (2016), and received the IEEE Technical Achievement Award in 2010 for "pioneering contributions to Secure and Private Data Management". I have also authored over a 100 technical papers, co-invented over 47 patents and have written a couple of books on Privacy and Trust Management.
